Dear Editor,
Shame on columnist Tom Mulhern for taking the tragedy of Marine
Lance Cpl. Jeramy Ailes death in Iraq and using it to spew his
anti-war, anti-Bush rhetoric. It is precisely Jeramy’s and many
others sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan and many other places our
service members serve, that allow insensitive blowhards like
Mulhern to air their grievances against the Bush
administration.
Dear Editor,
Shame on columnist Tom Mulhern for taking the tragedy of Marine Lance Cpl. Jeramy Ailes death in Iraq and using it to spew his anti-war, anti-Bush rhetoric. I didn’t know Jeramy personally, but I thank him wholeheartedly for his service and sacrifice. My heart and prayers go out to the Ailes family and friends who’s pain you cannot even fathom. For Mulhern to insinuate that Jeramy’s death was for the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time is beyond belief. I believe that you cannot say you support the troops but not the war. It is mutually exclusive. When you say the war is not for a just cause, how do you think that makes the troops feel?
It is precisely that contradiction that makes the great majority of active duty military personnel and veterans support the current administration. They believe in the mission. They believe in fighting terror and the evil regimes that support them. In your pompous exercise of free speech, you have dishonored the military and Jeramy Ailes. As a veteran and as a family member who has lost a Marine in another war, as long as our troops are in harm’s way, I suggest you at least show a little gratitude and respect, and hold your tongue. Semper Fi Jeramy!
