walk and race beginning at 8:30am followed by the ’12K Mt. Madonna
Challenge Race’ at 9 a.m. Registration be
gins at 7:30am.
Gilroy – The South Valley Symphony will hold ‘The Mount Madonna Challenge,’ a fundraising event, on Sunday, Aug. 29. Also sponsored by the Gavilan Joggers and Striders, the event will feature a 6K walk and race beginning at 8:30am followed by the ’12K Mt. Madonna Challenge Race’ at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30am.
All entrants are to report to the Spring Lake picnic area site at the base (Gilroy side) of Mt. Madonna County Park, on Highway 152. Pre-registration fees are $20 with shirt or $13 without. Medals will be awarded to the first three places in each age group in both races, while trophies will be awarded to the first place man and woman in the 12K race only.
Completed registration forms should be made payable to the South Valley Symphony, Mt. Madonna Challenge, and mailed to P. O. Box 1347, Gilroy, CA 95021-1347. Online registrations may be done at ‘active.com’ or ‘allsportrunning.com.’ Registrations received after Aug. 24, 2004, will be priced at $25 with shirt and $18 without.
