DEAR EDITOR:
Congratulations to the parents pushing for retesting of students for the GATE program using the “Structure of Intellect” test. Due to the overwhelming response, GUSD has added additional time slots for retesting as well as expanded the criteria to include students originally considered “conditionally identified” as GATE students, and has made taking the test a no-risk proposition for “conditional GATE” students.
My wife and I have been volunteering our time to get these students scheduled.
Tests will be given on July 26 through July 28. We would like to thank GUSD for making this opportunity available, and hopefully there will be some arrangements made for people who are not able to have their student retested due to the short notice.
