Jesse J. Dimas Sr. died suddenly Tuesday, May 25, 2004, in Salinas. He was 54.
A native of Chihuahua, Mexico, Mr. Dimas moved to Gilroy 35 years ago following the crop harvest. He worked for the Gilroy Parks and Recreation for 30 years. He also worked for the Gilroy School Unified School District.
He is the husband of the late Dolores Dimas; the father of Jesse J. Dimas Jr. of Hollister, Maria Dimas-Gonzalez and her husband, Efreen of Hollister, Joey Dimas of Gilroy; the grandfather of Darren, Christian, Miguel and Chabela; the brother of Santiago Dimas of Gilroy, Juanita Garcia-Dimas of Gilroy, Coy Dimas of Georgia and Mickey Speers of Georgia.
He also is survived many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at St. Mary’s Church, Gilroy.
