The 10th annual festival at Emma Prusch Farm Park celebrates the area’s rich diversity and a bountiful harvest. The day includes entertainment, a wide variety of folkloric dancing and mariachi youth groups and ethnic foods.

Festival organizer Sharon McCray is particularly looking forward to the return of the Sweet Potato Festival, a San Jose-based group that sells sweet potato french fries and pies for African-American causes, including assistance to HIV/Aids sufferers in Africa. McCray calls the group’s tasty tidbits “out of this world.”

And don’t miss the Chinese lion dancers, spearheading an entertainment lineup that includes jazz, mariachi and more. A Giant Pumpkin Contest, Master Gardeners, ethnic foods and a petting zoo all add up to a great time.

“It’s a weekend without politics,” says McCray.

That’s good enough for us.
