Gilroy– Families are needed to host guests from Gilroy’s sister city of Takko-Machi, Japan from Oct. 28 to 30.
Ten Takko Junior High School students and two teachers will be making the trip to Gilroy and would like to enjoy the hospitality of Gilroy families.

Exchange students need host families
Santa Clara County – The Pacific Intercultural Exchange is looking for families to host foreign high school students between the ages of 15 and 18. They speak English, have their own spending money, carry accident and health insurance and are excited to share their cultural experiences with a host family.
Families are eligible to claim a $50 per month charitable contribution deduction on their itemized tax returns for each month they host a student.

Wanted: bilingual election officers
Santa Clara County – Bilingual registered voters are needed to work as election officers for the Nov. 2, 2004 election.
The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters needs about 500 more Spanish-English bilingual election officers to provide language assistance to Spanish-speaking voters throughout the county.
Election officers must be registered in Santa Clara County and have their own transportation to the polling place.
They receive a stipend between $95 and $130 for attending a training and working at the polls.

Auditions to be
on ‘Broadway’
Gilroy – Auditions for ‘Forever Broadway,’ the annual winter production, will be held Saturday, at 12:30pm for ages 5 to 10, 2:30pm for ages 11 to 14, and at 4:30pm for ages 15 to 25, at the Gilroy Senior Center, 7371 Hanna St.
No experience is necessary.
