Prep Roundup: Dec. 3

Gilroy and Watsonville battled for 80 minutes, but needed extra time to decide a winner. 
Unfortunately for the Mustangs it was the Wildcatz who came away victorious, winning 1-0 in overtime Tuesday at the Watsonville Tournament.
Gilroy got off to a shaky start, but were dominant once it found its groove. The Mustangs outshot their opponent 20-3 and saw multiple scoring opportunities from Samantha Gonzalez at forward. 
Gilroy’s best opportunity came midway through the first half when Alexi Slattery connected with Kayla Gonzalez for a semi-break only to have the Wildcatz goalie come up with a big save. 
Chelsey Robles added to the offense with four shots on goal. 
Defensively, the team saw stellar play from Tayler Silacci, Jackie Gomez, Jessica Koppell and Monica Ruelas displaying strong play. 
Gilroy (0-1) will be back in action to take on Harbor at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Watsonville Tournament. 
BOYS BASKETBALL
Mustangs fall to Harbor
The Gilroy boys basketball played the second of its back-to-back contest with Harbor, but unfortunately for the Mustangs they yielded the same result.
Gilroy fell 74-48 to Harbor on the road Tuesday. 
Stats from this game were not yet available. 
The Mustangs (0-1) will be back in action on Thursday at the Aptos Tournament at the Santa Cruz Warriors Arena.
