GILROY—Bash Brothers (6-1) moved into a tie for first place in the Men’s Friday E Softball League with a 4-2 edging of Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors at Las Animas Veterans Park.
John Hagins hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Hardwood. Taylor Micali and Michael Cano each singled and scored in the Bash Brothers second to tie the game at 2-2. Consecutive singles by Eddie Vargas, Gino Martinez and Gilbert Cano earned the Brothers the deciding runs in the sixth inning.
Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors (6-1) took the doubleheader nightcap 17-3 over AJM Plastic Surgery. Mike Sarich homered and doubled for the winners. Daniel Valdez went 1 for 2 with one RBI for the Surgeons (2-5).
The Heathens (3-5) outlasted Just Cuz 24-7 as Marcus Gaeta and Neo Torres each went 5 for 5. Daniel Vasquez hit a triple and two singles, while Gabriel Hernandez scored three runs for Just Cuz.

Luna Bail Bonds Assassins edged past Baker Pump, 17-16, Thursday at Las Animas to move to 8-0 atop the six-team league.
Luis Bobadilla homered in the seventh to earn the final run. Rudy Maquinalez Jr. hit two Bail Bonds home runs. Aaron Dempsey hit a home run, two doubles and a single for Baker Pump (5-3).
Claddagh Brew Crew reached 5-3 with a 23-8 victory over The Sweepers (2-6). Cole Campbell and Jake Moreno hit Claddagh homers. Joe Arde went 3 for 3 for the Sweepers.
SVCC Sons of Thunder moved into fourth place at 3-5 with a 9-5 nod over the Titans. Justin Lopez hit a triple and two doubles for the Thunder. Justin Mutschler homered for the Titans.
Sunday Co-Rec C
Team Rush topped Advanced Wheels 10-7 at Las Animas to earn a one-game lead in the pennant race.
Jenny Barboa recorded three hits and scored three runs as Rush moved to 5-1. Mitch MacVicar doubled and singled for the Wheels.
Hi-Energy Networks dropped Out 2 Play to a 4-2 record with a 12-1 victory. Eddie Adame hit two homers, while Jordan Regallo one for Hi-Energy. Benny Naranjo collected two hits and scored the Out 2 Play run.
Brian Lomeli managed five hits and scored six runs as Big Kahunas outlasted the Navigators 28-12. Suzanne Lomeli aided the Big Kahunas offense by scoring five runs and contributing three hits.
Ryan Winn went 4 for 4 and Rudy Maquinalez added two doubles and a single to the Navigators offense.

VFW B-2 Bombers powered past Corey’s Girls 14-2 Wednesday at Las Animas to take a one-game lead in the pennant race.
Jamie Temperino lashed three hits as the Bombers moved to 7-1 with four games to play in the regular season. Kristin Castillo and Lisa Angulo scored runs for 6-2 Corey’s Girls.
Pops’ Gals improved to 6-2 with a 21-19 decision over Ms. BeHavin’. Alicia Reese hit a grand slam and Maureen Hughes went 5 for 5 for Pops’ Gals. Cindy Lujan and Cynthia Garza each went 4 for 4 for the losers.
The Dirty Diamonds snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 15-11 victory over the Loca Girls. Cory Tovar lined three hits and scored three runs for the Diamonds. Angelina Fernandez and Dominique Perez each mustered three hits for the Loca Girls.
Wednesday E
All of a Sudden improved to 8-0 last week with a 20-14 victory over Those Guys at Christmas Hill Park.
Eddie hit two home runs, a double and single as Sudden took a three-game lead in the pennant chase. Johnny Andrade went 4 for 4 and scored four runs for Those Guys (3-5).
The Borrachos trimmed Feather Haven 15-12 to leave both clubs at 5-3. Sal Flores homered in a four-hit showing for the Borrachos. Shaun Beall netted a home run in his four hits for the Haven.
HD Auto Glass Players (3-5) topped No Soup 4 You 11-9. Anthony Duran, Jose Vasquez and Frank Duran had run-scoring hits in the sixth to give the Players the win. Sam Juarez and Manny Juarez each went 3 for 3 for the Soup.
