Police blotter

The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes this week, including first-degree burglary, vehicle theft, selling stolen property and possession of a hand grenade. The arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter Feb. 26 through Mar. 5.
Burglary
-Jodie Bennecke, 47, Feb. 28 at 2:39 p.m. on the 7200 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
-Jose Lopez Casas, 18, Mar. 1 at 12:14 a.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary.
-Robert Higgs, 41, Mar. 1 at 5:04 p.m. on the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle for felony first-degree burglary and felony possession of a forged drivers license.
-Unique Bennett, 21, Mar. 1 at 5:04 p.m. on the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle for felony first-degree burglary.
Domestic violence
-Andrew Vasquez, 26, Feb. 26 at 8:49 p.m. on the 6700 block of Filbro Avenue for battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend and willful violation of a protective order.
-Patrick Bellinghausen, 42, Mar. 3 at 2:22 a.m. on the 100 block of Leavesley Road for battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend and violation of a court order to prevent domestic violence.
-Jesus Tellez Martinez, 24, Mar. 3 at 5:23 p.m. near the intersection of 10th and Alexander streets for battery on a former spouse, fiancé or friend.
-Perry Jackson, 55, Mar. 5 at 1:42 a.m. on the 500 block of Old Gilroy Street for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant, felony threats to commit a crime resulting in injury, driving under the influence and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Vehicle theft
-Janelle Lazos, 36, Mar. 1 at 6:01 p.m. near the intersection of Ramona Way and Wren Avenue for felony theft of unauthorized use of a vehicle, two charges of driving with privileges suspended or revoked, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility, allowing an  child in a vehicle without a seat belt, petty theft and driving with expired registration.
Selling stolen property
-Forest Polinski, 21, Mar. 2 at 12:04 a.m. on the 6100 block of Monterey Road for a felony charge of selling or aiding in the sale of stolen property.
Possession of a destructive device
-Jerry Rodriguez, 31, Mar. 3 at 2:30 p.m. at the Gilroy Police station located at 7301 Hanna Street for possession of a hand grenade.
Assault
-Marisa Avila, 28, Feb. 27 at 5:30 on the 400 block of Las Animas Avenue for two felony charges of committing an assault by means of force.
Battery
-Manuel Rivera, 29, Mar. 1 at 10:55 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Seventh streets for battery.
Driving under the influence
-Maximo Resendiz Jimenez, 39, Mar. 2 at 2:07 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Lewis streets for driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Violating a court order
-Diana Hill, 42, Feb. 26 at 11:42 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Seventh streets for violating a court order to prevent domestic violence.
-Aylissa Hartsch, 24, Feb. 27 at 12:40 p.m. on the 6700 block of Chestnut Street for violation of a protective order.
-Arturo Navarro Ibarra, 33, Feb. 28 at 11:12 p.m. on the 600 block of Seventh Street for willful disobedience of a court order.
Drinking in public
-Candela Beltran Sanchez, 32, Feb. 26 at 11:09 a.m. on the 200 block of First Street for drinking intoxicating liquor in a public place.
-Thomas Outhouse, 66, Mar. 1 at 3:04 p.m. on the 300 block of Mantelli Drive for drinking intoxicating liquor in a public place.
-Jose Chapa, 75, Mar. 4 at 1:45 p.m. near the intersection of Old Gilroy and Sixth streets for drinking intoxicating liquor in a public place.
Driving violations
-Juan Garcia, 30, Feb. 26 t 4:38 p.m. on the 6900 block of Camino Arroyo for driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
-Joseph Saldena, 26, Feb. 27 at 11:33 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and Leavesley Road for failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility, using a wireless telephone while driving and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
-Carlos Zepeda, 41, Feb. 28 at 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey Street and Luchessa Avenue for an outstanding warrant for driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
-Rachel Jimenez, 19, Mar. 3 at 4:06 a.m. at the Gilroy Police station located at 7301 Hanna Street for felony driving in willful disregard for safety and driving while unlicensed.
Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
-Ronald Edwards, 19, Feb. 27 at 3:19 p.m. near the intersection of First Street and Westwood Drive for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of alcohol in a vehicle by someone under the age of 21.
Possession of a controlled substance
-John Soto, 45, Feb. 27 at 7:45 a.m. on the 7500 block of Rosanna Street for possession of a controlled substance and a felony parole hold.
-Kourtney McEachin, 21, Feb. 28 at 9:50 a.m. on the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle for felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding felony warrant for re-arrest for a probation violation.
-Briann Vierra, 21, Feb. 28 at 9:50 a.m. on the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle for felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding felony warrant for re-arrest for a probation violation.
-Stephen Allen, 24, Feb. 28 at 9:50 a.m. on the 5900 block of Travel Park Circle for felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance.
-Monica Juarez, 29, Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. on an unspecified road in Gilroy for felony possession of a controlled substance.
Vandalism
-Tisha Zamora, 29, Mar. 1 at 7:58 a.m. on the 8000 block of Monterey Road for felony vandalism amounting to $50,000 or more in damages.
Under the influence
-Eric Calderon, 29, Mar. 1 at 5:16 a.m. on the 300 block of Welburn Avenue for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Enrique Nunez, 49, Mar. 2 at 1:41 a.m. on an unspecified section of Old Gilroy Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Rene Flores, 43, Mar. 2 at 2:52 p.m. on the 7500 block of Rosanna Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Multiple charges
-Gabriel Cortez, 46, Mar. 1 at 3:14 a.m. near the intersection of Ghirlanda Court and Murray Avenue for felony possession of a controlled substance, two charges of possession of a controlled substance, false imprisonment, battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend, three charges of resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and use/being under the influence of a controlled substance.
-Robert Amezcua, 26, Mar. 3 at 1 a.m. on the 8400 block of Murray Avenue for felony parole hold, possession of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer.
-Abraham Arellano, 20, Mar. 3 at 11:19 a.m. near the intersection of 10th and Chestnut streets for two charges of trespassing and possession of metal knuckles.
-Moises Duenas, 42, Mar. 4 at 10:07 a.m. on the 9300 block of Monterey Road for resisting arrest, vandalism, possession of a hypodermic syringe and unlawful possession of paraphernalia.
-Scott Rupright, 55, Mar. 5 at 9:38 a.m. near the intersection of Wayland Lane and Broadway for a felony charge of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, felony parole hold and three charges of being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Pablo Torres, 30, Mar. 5 at 1 p.m. on an unspecified road in Gilroy for felony possession of a controlled substance, destroying or concealing evidence and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
Failure to register
-Jeremy Leach, 36, Mar. 2 at 5:03 p.m. on the 8000 block of Wren Avenue for failure to register after a conviction.
Parole hold
-Daniel Roa, 29, Mar. 5 at 9:50 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey Road and IOOF Avenue for felony parole hold.
