It was a pitcher’s dual between Gavilan and Skyline Thursday, but unfortunately for the Rams the visitors came out on top.
Gavilan lost 1-0 to Skyline in 10 innings, despite a stellar performance by Matt Oxner on the mound.
Oxner put in nine innings of working and allowed seven hits, but struck out seven as well. He always walked one.
A Phil Caufield double allowed Vince Lonzano to score in the top of the 10th and the Rams were unable to answer.Â
DJ Santellano led the Rams, going 3 for 4 with a stolen base.
Gavilan (7-9 overall, 1-3 in conference) will look to rebound when it hosts College of San Mateo at noon Saturday.Â
