Antonio Del Buono Elementary School’s multipurpose room’s history of ceiling stains and moisture could get a fix, and Luigi Aprea Elementary School may see the addition fencing and a relocated entry gate.
The two improvement projects are among several facilities action items slated for consideration before the Gilroy Unified School District Board of Trustees Aug. 7.
Here’s a summary of some of the items, plus those mentioned above:
Antonio Del Buono: consideration of a $15,000 contract with Artik Art & Architecture for the Antonio Del Buono Multipurpose Room Damage Repair Feasibility Study.
• Luigi Aprea: ratification of a contract with Architectual Systems for the New Site Fencing and Entry Gate relocation at Luigi Aprea School.
• Christopher High School: ratification of a contract with DRYCO Construction, Inc. for the Road Safety work at Christopher High School, Cougar Court. The efforts are geared to prevent speeding and block drivers from using the walking bridge to access Cougar Court.
Christopher High School: proposal to OK $22,202 from Don Christopher Family through Gilroy Foundation for a contract with Earth Systems Pacific for testing and inspection services for the Christopher High School Bleacher Project.
• Christopher High School: to approve $5,500 from the Don Christopher Family, through the Gilroy Foundation, to fund inspection of new bleachers.
• Christopher High School: proposal to OK $5,590 from Gilroy Foundation for the procurement and installation of a flag pole with APEX Flagpoles for the Christopher High School Track and Field Project.
Christopher High School: Corporate sponsorship agreement between GUSD and the Christopher Ranch for the Christopher High School Scoreboard to defray all of the costs with Black Bear Diner, Christopher Ranch and Pinnacle Bank. The board will also consider approval for each of the sponsors in separate items.
• South Valley Middle School: contract out $119,127 with EF&S Concrete to install new sidewalks at the corner of South Valley Middle School. I.O.O.F. Street and Murray Avenue.
Other items on the agenda include consideration of the purchase for 600 TI-84 plus graphing calculators for Math 1 students at all high schools.
The Gilroy Unified School District’s Board of Trustees’ open session meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at the District Office, 7810 Arroyo Circle. Closed session begins at 5:30 p.m. The agenda is available on the district’s website, gusd.k12.ca.us.
