The Gilroy Police Department made arrests for a variety of crimes this past week, including assault with a deadly weapon, oral copulation with a minor, making threats to commit a crime resulting in death and possession of metal knuckles. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter between July 21 and 27.
Assault with a deadly weapon
-Jose Torrez, 36, July 25 at 5 p.m. on the 7100 block of Rosanna Street for two felony charges and felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
Attempted assault of a police officer
-Luis Cavasos, 39, July 26 at 5:15 p.m. in Christmas Hill Park for one felony charge and resisting, delaying or obstructing a police officer.
Battery
-Samantha McIntre, 21, July 24 at 8:15 a.m. on the 700 block of Carla Way for one misdemeanor charge and re-arrest for probation violation.
Burglary
-Ali Bibi, 18, July 25 at 7:35 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary.
Challenging or fighting in public
-Robert Silva, 26, July 25 at 4:10 p.m. in Christmas Hill Park for one misdemeanor charge.
Criminal threats
-Edilberto Arellano, 32, July 25 at 4:09 p.m. on the 500 block of Stoney Court for a felony charge for making threats to commit a crime resulting in death and felony possession of a dirk or dagger.
Drawing or exhibiting an imitation firearm
-Joshua Sontag, 18, July 26 at 12:14 a.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and Montebello Drive for one misdemeanor charge and altering an imitation firearm.
