Dear editor,
I am an eighth-grader living in Eagle Ridge. I have been recently hearing a lot about the drought in California. I heard that Andy Mariani’s fruit trees might suffer from lack of water. Aren’t produce, trees and fruits some of the most important things to keep watering? Directly outside of my house there were two broken sprinkler heads, and we notified the management three times on three separate nights about it. A neighbor says that she also called multiple times. Our homeowner’s newsletter justified that landscaping must keep up appearances. How can we waste so much water on lawns during a drought? I hope that the Gilroy community will help homeowner’s associations realize that keeping lawns green is less important than conserving water wisely.
Thank you,
