Two south county men were arrested on alcohol-related charges early Sunday morning after allegedly leading police on a short pursuit.
Gustavo Lugo, Jr., 26, of San Jose and Marlen Aguilar-Ponce, 22, of GIlroy were arrested at a dead-end on the 9100 block of Church Street north of Farrell Avenue durign the early morning hours on April 20, police confirmed.
Police discovered a suspicious vehicle in a new construction site in the vicinity of of Wren and Vickery avenues, where prior thefts have occurred, according to Sgt. Pedro Espinoza of the Gilroy Police Department.
As the officer attempted to make contact the vehicle fled and led a short pursuit that ended after the vehicle turned into the dead end on Church Street (9100th Block) north of Farrell Avenue.
Lugo Jr. faces charges of DUI and evading arrest. Aguilar-Ponce is suspected of being drunk in public.
