Live Oak High School clothing students will model their original designs at 4 and 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1 in the theater on campus at 1505 E. Main St., Morgan Hill. More than 300 student-created garments will be modeled by more than 100 students.
The students featured in the fashion show are enrolled in Live Oak’s clothing classes and the ROP Fashion Design classes. Students learn garment construction, color and textile selection. These classes are designed to train students for jobs in the field of fashion design and manufacturing.
The theme of this years show is “The Golden Age Of Fashion.” Advanced clothing students will exhibit their design lines. The following students have created original garments, chosen a theme and music to reflect their inspired designs.
Rachel Hart, theme: Barbie & Ken; Rachel Neto/Emily Carrillo, theme: California Coast; Lori Labani, theme: Dark Dresses; Micah Haferbecker/Brittany Ferguson, theme: Katy Perry; Mackenzie Hauge, theme: Cruzin’ Capitola; Samantha Napihaa, theme: Trick or Treat; Sara Day, theme: Pretty in Pink; Kellie Kendrick, theme: Circus; and Megan Bennett, theme: Classic.
Generous community support from local businesses and organizations helps make the production a huge success, including Peninsula Wearable Arts Guild, South Valley Quilt Association, West Valley Community College, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Sewing Machine Center and Joanne’s Fabrics.
Tickets are $5 for the 4 p.m. show and $5 for the 7 p.m. show and all tickets will be available at the door.
