San Jose Sharks forward Logan Couture and teammates will sign autographs in Morgan Hill Sept. 17 to raise money and awareness for the ongoing search effort for Sierra LaMar.
Couture, along with teammates Tomas Hertl, Alex Stalock, Jason Demers, James Sheppard and Andrew Desjardins will sign autographs at Britton Middle School, 80 W. Central Ave., from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 17.
For a $20 donation, attendees can receive one autographs from each of the six players on an item of their choosing, according to a press release from the Sharks. Only cash will be accepted.
“We are all proud residents of the Bay Area and we want to send a message to Sierra’s family, her friends and the entire community that we have not forgotten about her and we are not giving up hope,” Couture said.
All funds raised from the autograph session will go toward efforts to find Sierra LaMar, who disappeared from her Morgan Hill home March 16, 2012 at the age of 15. Sierra was a sophomore at Sobrato High School at the time of her disappearance.
Authorities think Sierra was kidnapped and killed by Morgan Hill resident Antolin Garcia Torres, but volunteers continue to search for Sierra or her remains every Saturday.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the search efforts can do so by reporting to the former Central High School site at 8 a.m. on Saturdays. The site is located at 17960 Monterey Road.
