Wreath making party
GILROY
– St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church invites the community to a
wreath and swag making party on Saturday, Dec. 21. The event will
take place in the Church Parish Hall between 9 a.m. and noon. A
potluck brunch will be held. Bring gloves, clippers or scissors,

Donate a jacket

GILROY – The Community Service Club of South Valley Middle School is holding a jacket drive now through Friday, Dec. 20. The club is asking people to donate old jackets and sweatshirts for needy families in the community. Donations can be delivered to the school between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The school is located at 385 I.O.O.F. Ave. For more information, call 848-7185.

Artists who teach on exhibit

GILROY – Creative Catalyst is an exhibition currently on display at the Gavilan College Gallery, featuring artwork by art educators from Gavilan College and local high schools. Artists exhibiting artwork are Dan Dwyer, Jane Edberg, KC Gonzalez, Jack Johnson, Arthur Juncker, Tim Kelly, Jacqueline Kurtt, Jane Rekedal, Sylvia Rios, Moisés Roizen, Louise Roy and Arturo “r2row” Rosette. Artworks include ceramics, photography, drawings, paintings, fabric, murals, wood and mixed media. The exhibition is on display at Gavilan, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., now through

Toys for Tots

GILROY – This year the Gilroy Fire Department is assisting the United States Marine Corps with the annual Toys for Tots Program. The purpose for this program is to collect and distribute Christmas gifts for less fortunate children and children in foster care residing in the South County area. Food For Families

GILROY – Customers at Raley’s family of stores can help feed a neighboring family while shopping for their own meals. Food For Families, the nonprofit program that gives food banks a chance to fill their pantry needs, is seeking non-perishable food and cash donations. Now through Jan. 3, Food For Families donation bins can be found at 132 Raley’s, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source locations throughout California, New Mexico and Northern Nevada, including the Nob Hill location on First Street in Gilroy. ‘Holiday Snap’

GILROY – Rod and Marion Pintello are proud to present “Holiday Snap,” the premier production at Pintello Comedy Theater, at the Calvary Chapel located at 8531 Church St. Directed by Marion Pintello and written by Michael Pertwee and John Chapman, the performances will take place on Fridays and Saturdays Jan. 3 to Feb. 1. Throw blankets on sale

Christmas toy drive

SAN MARTIN – The Emergency Housing Consortium is still collecting new and unwrapped toys and gifts for the 26 families living in the Boccardo San Martin Family Living Center. Your family can even adopt one of these families. Toys and gifts can be dropped off at Ludewig Christmas Tree Farm, Monterey Road and California Avenue; the Great Frame Up and Photographix, both in the Vineyard Town Center; Morgan Hill Physical Therapy on Juan Hernandez Drive; Naturals Day Spay, on Monterey Road just south of Vineyard Avenue; Minuteman Press; A Children’s Garden Learning Center (formerly Tutor Time) on East Dunne Avenue, just west of Safeway; Greg Sabol, chiropractor, 15862 Monterey Road and Lori Clifford, 15185 Monticello Way. Hot meals for seniors

MORGAN HILL – The Morgan Hill Nutrition Center provides a hot meal at noon time for all seniors (age 60 and older), and also socialization five days a week, Monday through Friday. A suggested contribution of $1.75 is asked for ages 60 and older, and $5 for guests under 60. Any senior, regardless of income, is welcome.
