GILROY – Rams’ sophomore quarterback Ajene Palmer accumulated 361 yards of total offense during the Gavilan gridmen’s 39-32 home victory over Monterey Peninsula last week.
Developing into the Rams’ unstoppable force – mixing arm strength and accuracy with speed and mobility – Palmer was recognized by the JC Athletic Bureau as the State Player of the Week. He is the second Ram this year to be given the award with sophomore teammate Brandon Almaguer earning the honors earlier in he season.
Palmer completed19 of 34 attempts for 325 yards and two passing touchdowns, while gobbling up 36 yards on four carries. Palmer’s performance vaulted the Rams (4-5, 2-1) to a much-needed victory over MPC.
