Nichole Ware and Adrian Knapic were married Nov. 16, 2008 at Val Vista Lakes in Gilbert, Ariz.
Nichole is the daughter of Steve and Kathy Ware. Adrian is the son of Mario and Rina Knapic.
The couple had a beautiful afternoon wedding outdoors by the lakeside with close family and friends. They enjoyed a honeymoon in Maui.
Zagarino/Lamb
Lisa Zagarino, a native of Gilroy, was married to Brian Lamb on May 3, 2008.
Lisa is the daughter of Mr. Joe Zagarino of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Jim and Julie Rizzi-Nelson of Pinetop, Ariz, both former Gilroy residents, and the grand-daughter Mrs. Gloria Rizzi of Gilroy, Emilio and Catarina Zagarino of Montebello, and Eugene and Carolyn Nelson of Paradise. She is an early childhood specialist for the Arizona Association for Supportive Childcare in Tempe, Ariz. She graduated from Gilroy High School in 1996, Gavilan College in 1998 and received a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State in 2002.
Brian is the son of Richard and Barbara Lamb of Antioch. He is a field operations representative for Ameritox Corporation. He graduated from Liberty Union High School in 1997 and received a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State in 2002.
Lisa and Brian were neighbors for two years at San Diego State. They met again four years later on Jan. 1, 2006. The two were married May 3, 2008 at The Bridges Golf and Country Club in San Ramon surrounded by 200 of their closest family members and friends. The cocktail hour and sit-down dinner reception was held in the Garden Pavilion at the Bridges.
The couple honeymooned in the Bahamas. They now reside in Gilbert, Ariz.
HONORS
Steven Roberts
Private Steven Roberts has graduated from Army basic training at Ft. Benning, Ga., and is currently in training, stationed at Ft. Drum, NY. He completed 16 weeks of basic infantry training.
Roberts, son of Nancy Roberts and brother of Brianna Roberts, is a 2008 graduate of Gilroy High School.
Jared Stephen
Navy Seaman Recruit Jared A. Stephen, a 2008 graduate of Sobrato High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
During the eight-week program, Stephen completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.
The capstone event of boot camp is “Battle Stations.” This exercise gives recruits the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the fleet. “Battle Stations” is designed to galvanize the basic warrior attributes of sacrifice, dedication, teamwork and endurance in each recruit through the practical application of basic Navy skills and the core values of honor, courage and commitment. Its distinctly “Navy” flavor was designed to take into account what it means to be a sailor.
Armando Villaneda
Air Force Airman 1st Class Armando Villaneda has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, core values, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree relating through the Community College of the Air Force.
Villaneda is the brother of Rogelio Villaneda of Morgan Hill. He graduated from Live Oak High School in 2003 and received an associate’s degree in 2008 from Merced Community College.
