Helice Peri Welton and Kevin David McDonald were married Nov. 22, 2008.
Peri, daughter of Mr. Henry Porter Welton III and Mrs. Patrice Page Fancher Welton of Gilroy, received a bachelor’s degree from UC Davis in 2003 and a master’s degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 2005. She is partner relations manager at George P. Johnson in San Carlos.
Kevin, son of Mrs. Jeanette Lyn McDonald and the late Mr. David Bruce McDonald of Camarillo, received a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 2002 and a master’s degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo in 2005. He is a financial analyst for Berkeley HeartLab in Burlingame.
Peri and Kevin shared their wedding vows with family and friends in a candlelit ceremony in the Historic Cask Room at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Saint Helena. The ceremony was followed by wine and hors d’oeuvre, which concluded with the chef banging pots and pans to signify the start of a gourmet dinner and celebratory dancing.

Nevaeh Nicole Niffenegger was born Dec. 1, 2008 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital to Felicia Vilchis and Christopher Niffenegger of Gilroy. She weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces.

Virginia Barbara Days
Virginia Barbara Days, of Morgan Hill, celebrated her 95th birthday on Dec. 7, 2008. Mrs. Days and her late husband, Frank, moved to Morgan Hill in 1947 and raised six children: Barbara, Virginia, Dolores, Frank, Jacklyn and Elizabeth. Mrs. Days was active in the local PTA’s, TEMOFA, Brownies, Girl Scouts and 4-H. She also worked at the election polls for 20-plus years and taught Catechism at St. Catherine’s church for many years.
A party was held in her honor. In attendance were her daughters, Virginia Mae Days and Jacklyn Bauleke, son-in-law Manuel Cruz and his son Michael, niece Janet Walsh, along with her husband Tony and their daughter, Vicky, and friend LaGina Metcalf and her two daughters, Barbara Moore and Vicky Baroff. Mrs. Days has 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren (including nine step-great-grandchildren) and three great-great-grandchildren.

Steven Roberts
Private Steven Roberts has graduated from Army basic training at Ft. Benning, Ga., and is currently in training, stationed at Ft. Drum, NY. He completed 16 weeks of basic infantry training.
Roberts, son of Nancy Roberts and brother of Brianna Roberts, is a 2008 graduate of Gilroy High School.
