at Solorsano Gymnasium.
GILROY – Anna Gamboa popped in 11 points Saturday as the Red Super Stars defeated the Black Warriors 19-14 in Co-Rec 3 Girls’ 4 Grade play at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Andrew Nguyen tallied eight points, Emma Seert four and Emily Fredericks two as the Warriors stayed close to the Stars for three quarters. The Warriors pulled even at 10-10 by intermission. Maria Sandoval and Cameron Childers each netted four points for the winners.

The Blue Jaws trimmed Purple Rain 34-22 in Boys’ 4 Grade competition in the Gilroy Community Services Department program. Lawrence Acosta paced the Jaws with 11 points. Jonathan Olvera followed with eight points for the 6-0 winners. Michael Montez finished with seven, Noah Vasquez six and Kyle Ettema two for the Jaws. Dominic Bettancourt and Brandon Ellenberg keyed the Jaws defense.

Zahcary Fisher and Trevor Hadnot each scored six points as the Black Gators outlasted the Mustangs 18-9 in Boys’ 5-6 play. Luis Gonzalez produced four points, Nicolas Colmer two for the victors.

Andrei Arroyo, Eddie Tinoco and Bryan Velasquez each struck for six points to lift the Gold Lakers by Red Chaos 18-4. Arroyo paced the winners with 13 rebounds.

The Flames of Fury defeated the Hurricanes 25-19 in Girls’ 5-7 action. Ally Foster led the Canes with 10 points. Alyssa Sandoval aided the Cane cause with three points. Ashley Irby and Daniella Sandoval keyed the Canes defensive play.

The Blue Gamecocks stopped the Orange Crush 36-17 as Brandon David netted 12 points, Alexander Gutierrez 10. Alex Rojas collected eight points, Anthony Litrell-Garcia seven and Alex Tinoco two for the Crush. Hector Gonzalez helped with four Crush rebounds, one steal and one assist.

The Crush dropped a 29-26 squeaker to the Purple Warriors. Rojas fashioned a 13-point showing and Evan Trevino produced three points, two rebounds and two steals for the Crush.
