Background check could take two weeks
The Gilroy City Council has directed the executive search firm of Peckham & McKenney to proceed with further reference and background checks of the leading candidate for Gilroy City Administrator, Mayor Al Pinheiro said. It is anticipated that this process will be completed within the next two weeks.
Applicants were interviewed by panels consisting of citizens, stakeholders and the city council Friday. Finalists were then interviewed by the council Saturday. The successful candidate will fill the position held by Jay Baksa who retired in January after more than two decades at the helm.
