Seven singles, capped by an RBI-hit from Steve Aguirre, gave Gamers In Control the win and a 3-2 mark heading into Friday’s final games of the season. California Overhead lost an opportunity to lock up the second-half title, instead falling to 4-1.

David Gallardo and Rafael Gomez each lined an RBI-double in the top of the seventh as California Overhead struck for three runs for a 9-3 cushion. A. J. Martinez, who homered in the Gamers second frame, ignited the comeback in the seventh with a one-out single.

Aguirre led the winners with three hits. Albert Ramirez collected three hits for Overhead.

Dutchman’s Pizza kept in Men’s BB title contention Friday with a 24-18 win over Los Gigantes at Las Animas Park.

Shannon Fernandez lashed a home run and three singles for the 3-2 Pizzamen. Dee’z Nutz is 4-1 with one week left in the regular season. Eddie Adame added four hits and scored four Dutchman’s runs. Mitchell Reese and Ricky Salinas each mustered two hits in an 11-run fifth for Los Gigantes, the first-half C champion. Jose Melendrez Jr. went 3-for-3.

Pacific Coast Bail Bonds is 4-1 atop the Co-Rec B League after a 15-1 win over Team Coconut Sunday at Las Animas.

Richard Rodriquez and Ricky Salinas each homered for Pacific Coast, the first-half B champion. Daniel Salinas went 3-for-4 and scored three Bail runs. Junior Gutierrez went 3-for-4 and scored the Coconut run.

Frank Vargas Taxes and Financing also hit 4-1 with a 21-4 nod over Team Hair FX. K. C. Adams keyed the Vargas Taxes offense with a home run, triple, two singles and a sacrifice fly. Mark Terrill scored four runs. Evonne Xavier went 2-for-3 with one RBI for Team Hair FX, the first-half C champion.

Rico Lopez went 4-for-5 and scored twice to carry Team Strike past ifly 16-1 in Co-Rec C play. Jeremiah Galvan powered two triples and a single. Rich Wallace homered for ifly.
