Local restrautuers Frank Leamy and Majid Bahriny, co-owners of Mama Mia Restaurants, will open a Sonic Drive-In franchise at the McCarthy Retail Center & Business Park in mid-November.
The two have the Bay Area franchise license for Sonic Drive-In and plan to open 11 locations within the next few years.
McCarthy Ranch Project Manager Joey McCarthy said the location is ideal because state Highway 152, also know as Pacheco Pass, is a busy arterial highway with pass-through traffic from Interstate 5. McCarthy Ranch owns the land where the Sonic will open.
Dental professionals gather
Local dentist and community leader Dr. Jon Hatakeyama and his dental specialists at Evergreen Park Professional Center, Drs. Erika Gabor, Stephen Smith, Louis Tieu, and Tommy Tong, organized the first ever gathering of Morgan Hill and South County dentist Sept. 25 for an informal festive meeting to provide an opportunity to network and become acquainted.
New Leadership Group director
David DeWalt was recently named to Silicon Valley Leadership Group’s 27-member board of directors. DeWalt is currently CEO and president of antivirus software giant, McAfee Inc. DeWalt has more than 20 years experience in the technology industry – spanning engineering, product management, marketing, and sales management. He joined McAfee in April 2007.
