Lorraine F. Dooling

Mrs. Lorraine F. Dooling, 75, passed away on October 29, 2008 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital after a courageous five month battle against cancer.

Lorraine was born in Hollister on December 16, 1932. The youngest child of Joseph and Lena Fontes, she grew up in the Southside Area. After graduating from Hollister High School in 1949, she married Willis Dooling on June 6,1953 at St. Angela’s Church in Pacific Grove, CA. Lorraine was first a wife, mother, and homemaker, and in addition she also worked for over 40 years as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed reading, golf, bridge, and playing pedro with her family and friends.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Willis Dooling of Hollister; her children and their spouses, Tim Dooling of San Jose, Denise and Jim Prindiville of Chino Hills, CA; Craig and Monica Dooling of Roseville, CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Rebecca and Jonathan Michel, Jonathan Ferrell, Christa Ferrell; her great-grandchildren Delanie and Dylan Michel, all of Chino Hills. Also her sister, Helen Frusetta of Tempe, AZ, and her brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Joan Fontes of Eureka, NV. She was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and George Fontes, and her sister, Evelyn Frusetta.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Coelho, Dr. Leonard Caputo, the nurses and staff of Hazel Hawkins Hospital, and the caregivers of Home Instead Senior Care for their outstanding care and kindness.

As per Lorraine’s request private family services were held Thursday, October 30th at the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home followed by interment in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery. Officiant was Fr. Rudy Ruiz, pastor of Sacred Heart Church.

Memorials are preferred to Hazel Hawkins Hospital Foundation c/o the mortuary chapel 870 San Benito St., Hollister.
