Two adults charged in a knife fight last month at a gas station in downtown Morgan Hill are scheduled to appear in court to enter pleas next week.

Humberto A. Gonzalez, 18, and Alejandro Hernandez, 19, both of Morgan Hill will be in Santa Clara County Superior Court at the San Martin courthouse Tuesday for a hearing at 1:30 p.m. The two are expected to enter pleas in a multiple-stabbing incident which left three people injured, one critically.

The Oct. 17 knife fight took place in the parking lot of the AM/PM gas station at 18605 Monterey Road. One of the victims received several stab wounds in the chest.

Gonzalez was arrested for his involvement in the incident on Oct. 18, and Hernandez surrendered to authorities Oct. 21.

Both are charged with two counts of attempted murder.

Also arrested Oct. 18 for their involvement in the violence were two juveniles, a 15-year-old boy from Gilroy and a 17-year-old girl from Morgan Hill. They have not been booked as adults, and officials from the D.A.’s office declined to release information on possible charges or upcoming court proceedings.

Although police thought the incident may have been gang-related, Deputy D.A. Patricia Henley, who is leading the prosecution of the case, said the D.A.’s office is not charging the case as a gang crime. She said the investigation is ongoing.
