After some tough times, the Hays-Stratton Spay-Neuter Clinic has returned. We’ve got things back up and running, and we’re ready to accept San Benito County cats and dogs for spaying or neutering. Pet Friends has always advocated spaying or neutering to help control the homeless animal population of San Benito County, and we can once again offer a low cost solution for the County’s pets. The number of cats and dogs that end up at the pound, with an uncertain future, hoping for a kind person to rescue them from being euthanized when their time runs out, is heartbreaking. Some animals are fortunate enough to make it out by landing a spot at places like Pet Friends, SHARE, ACGSR, Towncats, and other groups who provide a home, food, medical care and shelter, but there is only so much room these groups have. Pet Friends has a full facility, with cats and dogs of all ages. We’ll provide for them until they are adopted by a loving person, or for the rest of their lives, but we’d really like to see each cat and dog find a loving home of their own. Part of that goal is to reduce the number of unwanted litters of kittens and puppies, that eventually find their way to the pound and rescue groups, or just end up homeless.
Please call Pet Friends at 831-634-1191 for information on available appointments and pricing for a spay or neuter for you cat or dog. You can also visit the animals at Pet Friends while making an appointment in person, at 2975 Buena Vista Road, in Hollister. Our hours are new for winter: Tuesday – Friday, 11-3pm; Saturday, 10-4pm; and Sunday, 12-3pm.
