On behalf of the entire Morales family, I’d like to thank the
community of Gilroy. It was an honorable 12 years of serving public
office. I am honored to have served with the present council
members and the mayor.

On behalf of the entire Morales family, I’d like to thank the community of Gilroy. It was an honorable 12 years of serving public office. I am honored to have served with the present council members and the mayor.
I also enjoyed serving with our former mayors and council members. In my tenure, I am proud of the transformation that our community has made. We have provided the best public safety, economic vitality, housing for our residents, a youth commission and the best recreational park system that a community needs and will enjoy.
My vision and involvements were focused on the downtown, neighborhoods and our school district. My efforts were concentrated on improving the environment, transportation and preserving our historical and cultural diversity. We have reorganized our departments and community services to best serve our public. I am proud of our city administrator and staff, the best in the state if not the nation.
It was an honor to have participated in the creation of our city master planning and in our infrastructure service providing master plans. One thing that remains the same is the integrity, the humility and the volunteerism – the soul core of our citizenry.
Together we have created a human infrastructure of caring, supporting and giving to override our social crisis. During my campaign I visited our community of faith, humanity, humility and civility it is the strength of this community and spiritual growth. I applaud our faith factors that strengthen our ability to overcome our fears.
As your council member and servant I enjoyed our partnerships with neighborhoods, churches, business, organizations and the school district. Together we found the best solutions to our challenges. My purpose was to serve and to fulfill the challenges that John F. Kennedy left us with in his famous words, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
My deepest gratitude to those who assisted me during my office and during my campaign. Their noble efforts will always be remembered.
As I approach my final meetings I only reflect upon the footprints left behind and the echoes of serenity prayers before every council meeting. Thank you and may our community prosper throughout life.
