Collectively, grade the performance of the Gilroy City Council:
– “C-” … The Council has reverted to the bad ol’ days of infighting,
divisiveness, and self-promotion. I long for those better times when so called “rubber stamping” was considered consensus building and team work!
– “B” … Generally, they are on the right track. I wish they would have rehired some of the laid off city staff instead of spending so much on other entities like the Visitors Bureau, which should be self sustaining.
– “B” … had my concerns after the last election but I believe they do work well together, especially during this very difficult economy.
– “C” … That means average and that’s what they are….
– Grade “D”. Gartman’s absence has pulled overall performance down to a ‘cover and hide’ mentality; seems like none of them really have a future vision for Gilroy.
– C – There have been improvements on how the Council is working together and reaching out to the community for input. I also appreciate their renewed support for attracting tourist and business development to our community. This is good forward planning.
