Dear Editor,

My wife and I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many people of this community who have shown so much love and support for our son, Jack Daley, during this very trying time. Not only his colleagues and friends at Gilroy High School, but those from South Valley Community Church, parents of children who have passed through the high school, the students themselves and the many others who have known and worked with Jack in his many endeavors for the good of his school and community.

As parents we feel a deep sadness as a result of this unfortunate incident and for the emotional stress that it has caused our son and his family. We have all heard the old saying that “bad things happen to good people.” That has never been more true than in this case.

We do not know how things will work out, but we are sure that because of Jack’s character, his love of family and his faith in God, he will see this through, knowing of our love for him and the love of so many others. We thank you all!

John J. and Jane Daley, Gilroy
