Placido “Duke” Forestieri passed away peacefully on November 28, 2011, at the age of 86.
Born in San Jose to Anna and Guy Forestieri. Duke’s family moved when he was 14 to Morgan Hill after they bought a prune and walnut orchard, where he and his family lived and worked for over 70 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 61 years, MaryAnn, his daughter Ann (Marc) Minton and son, Steve (Julie) Forestieri and grandchildren Liz, Luke, Sara, Kevin and Megan; brother Joe(Shirley) Forestieri and many nieces and nephews.
A vigil service will be held Sunday, December 4, 2011, at 7:00 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 5, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park in Gilroy.
