FIELD HOCKEY: Mustangs will face Acorns in quarterfinals

The second-seeded Gilroy High field hockey team will play No. 10 Live Oak in the Central Coast Section quarterfinals Saturday at Del Mar High School.

The Acorns defeated No. 7 Prospect in first-round action Thursday. The Mustangs received an opening round bye into Saturday’s quarterfinal round.

Game time is listed on the CCS as 2:45 p.m.

In other first-round finals, No. 6 Leland beat No. 11 Westmont 7-2. The Chargers will play No. 3 Los Gatos on the same side of the bracket as the Mustangs.
