Gilroy man injured in accident
Gilroy – A local man suffered moderate chest injuries after he lost control of his car on Holsclaw Road late Thursday morning.
Victor Diaz, 24, was driving southbound when he lost control of his car south of Gilman Road and struck a tree by the roadside edge.
After contacting a nearby business for help, the Gilroy residents was taken to Saint Louise Regional Hospital and then transported by CALSTAR to Stanford Hospital where he was treated for chest abrasions.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
One injured in three-car accident
Gilroy – A three-car accident Thursday night on Highway 152 is the result of a driver following another car too closely, police said.
Charles Anderson, 40, of Los Banos, rear-ended the Honda Civic driven by Jaime Martinez, 32 of Los Banos west of Highway 156.
The impact of that collision pushed Martinez’s car into the 61-year-old Sara Williams’s car which was stopped to let another vehicle turn left.
Martinez complained of neck pain and was transported by AMR ambulance to Saint Louise Regional Hospital.
Anderson and Martinez’s cars were towed from the scene.
Alcohol is not a factor in the crash, which is under investigation.

Christmas Arts & Craft Fair
Gilroy – St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will be hosting it’s 5th annual Christmas Arts & Craft Fair on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
Admission is free.
Hand made dolls, quilts, pottery, jewelry, knitted baby gifts, and more all made by local craftspeople, will be available for purchase.
St. Stephen’s will host a country store selling home made breads, cookies, jams, and other goodies.
The kitchen will open at 10am to offer coffee, lunch and soft drinks.
Take a tour through St. Mary cemetery
Gilroy – Meet your ancestors in Gilroy’s oldest cemetery on Saturday.
The walking tour will meet at 10am in front of the Serra Cottage at 7950 Church St. and progress across the street to Old St. Mary cemetery.

City offers disaster workshops
Gilroy – Gilroy will be offering two workshops on disaster preparedness from 6 to 8pm, Nov. 9; and from 6:30 to 8:30pm, Nov. 16.
Discussion will include information on which disasters are most likely to affect the area and what they can do to deal with problems after a disaster occurs. The program will include the viewing of a new video entitled, “Condition Red: Prepare for Disaster.” The video is a wake-up call for families and individuals who have no plan for how they will deal with a disaster in their immediate surroundings. The workshops will also teach the public how to put together a 72-hour emergency preparedness kit.

The ‘Wizard’ coming to town
Gilroy – The city of Gilroy Community Services Department and Children’s Rainbow Theatre present “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” By Tim Kelly.
