opened up the process to search for a new president.

Tammy Brownlow has served as the EDC’s interim president since December 2010, one month after the resignation of then-president Richard Spitler. She will be a candidate for the job.
EDC Board President Kurt Michielssen said, “We all want to recognize Ms. Brownlow for her outstanding leadership during this pivotal time of transition. In keeping with the organization’s procedural requirements, we are opening the application and selection process to all interested candidates.”
Salary will range between $90,000 and $115,000 depending on experience and skills, and benefits include health insurance and paid vacation, according to the EDC. The EDC is a nonprofit organization that works with the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce, the Gilroy Downtown Business Association, the City of Gilroy and local businesses. The EDC president is responsible for planning and facilitating programs that promote economic development in Gilroy, according to the press release.
In May, the city approved a two-year budget that bumped the EDC’s yearly funding from $96,000 to $200,000.
