Mustangs play first of two games with San Benito today
The Gilroy High baseball team used an eight-run second inning to slingshot itself to a 10-0 victory over North Salinas on Monday in Salinas.
The game was called after the fifth due to the 10-run rule.
Aaron Cimino earned the win on the mound, striking out three Vikings and allowing three hits over the five innings.
Cimino also joined Bubu Garcia and Jordan Dexter with a pair of RBI each, and Ryan Alba went 3 for 4.
The Mustangs (10-3-1, 7-2-1 Tri-County Athletic League) begin a two-game home-and-home series with San Benito (9-4, 7-2 TCAL) today at 4 p.m. in Gilroy. The two teams shift to Hollister on Thursday.
