Former Gilroy High School star Bria DeLorenzo former set a school record for Notre Dame de Namur University by hitting four home runs in one day against Brigham Young University-Hawaii.

DeLorenzo, the Tri-County Athletic League Most Valuable Player in 2004, hit one home run in the first game Monday, and three homers, including a grand slam in the second game. She finished the second game with a record seven RBI’s.

For DeLorenzo, a junior catcher majoring in kinesiology, the sixth inning was her favorite. She hit a two-run homer in the Argonauts’ 8-3 loss to BYU-Hawaii in the opener, and hit a grand slam in the sixth inning of a 13-5 win in the second game.

Carlos Musquez, (3-0-1, 3KOs) who graduated from Gilroy High, will be fighting against Shadi Hamsho (8-0, 1KO) in a six-round super featherweight bout at HP Pavilion at 7:30pm today.

Other matches include light welterweights Jesus “Chuy” Rodriguez vs. Carlos De La Cruz and middleweights Andre Ward vs. Julio Jean.

Former four-weight world champion James “Lights Out” Toney will be in attendance. Toney has a professional record of 69-6–3 with 43 KO’s.

Toney will replace Randall “Tex” Cobb as the evening’s special guest. Cobb will be unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
