Commercial burglary

A suspect or suspects broke into Gilroy Bowl, 7554 Monterey St., and took $2,300 in cash, between 2 and 4 a.m. Sunday. The suspect or suspects pried the door off a safe, causing $100 in damage, to get the cash.

Hit-and-run accident

A 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage with license plate 5ZPN920 struck a parked vehicle on the 6900 block of Church Street and drove away from the scene, 10:10 p.m. Saturday.

A gray Ford F250 hit a blue 2005 Ford Mustang twice as its driver tried to pass the Mustang in the median near 7940 Monterey Highway, 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Auto burglary

Electronics valued at $3,600 were stolen from a black 2008 Honda parked outside Best Buy, 7011 Camino Arroyo, 8:06 a.m. Friday. While the car’s owner was in the store, a suspect or suspects broke the front passenger-side window and stole personal and recently purchased items, including three laptops valued at $840, $500 and $1,400, DVDs valued at $105, headphones valued at $55, two external hard drives valued at $100 and $80, a Sony PlayStation Portable valued at $350 and a memory stick valued at $150.

A paycheck was taken from a purse in a 2002 Mercury Cougar parked on the 1770 Colony Way, between 2 and 9:30 a.m. Friday. The suspect or suspects also keyed the hood and dented the area behind the driver-side door.

Forty dollars in cash was stolen from an orange 1998 Ford parked at the Gilroy Premium Outlets, 681 Leavesley Road, between 2 and 11 p.m. Friday. The suspect or suspects entered the car by breaking the passenger-side window, causing $150 in damage.

Vandalism

Seven tires on two shuttle buses were slashed while parked behind a business at 5810 Obata Way, between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Friday. The tires were valued at $1,050.

Four concrete benches valued at $4,000 were broken at Las Animas Veterans Park, 8785 Church St., 8:24 a.m. Sunday.

Non-injury accident

A 16-year-old male without a license or proof of insurance backed a blue 1999 GMC into a white 2006 Jeep Liberty in the parking lot of Rotten Robbie, 390 Leavesley Road, 10 a.m. Saturday.

An adult male made a right turn in his 1992 blue Dodge caravan and broadsided a silver 2006 Nissan Sentra near 7225 Eigleberry St., 11:44 a.m. Saturday.

Grand theft

A Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old asked another man for change for a large bill and, when the second man opened his wallet, the Hispanic man grabbed $500 from it, then fled the area, Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, 5:51 p.m. Saturday.

A Caterpillar backhoe valued at $80,000 was stolen from a construction site near the intersection of Arroyo Circle and Gilman Road, between 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Eight sets of car stereos were taken from vehicles stored at Bracco’s Towing and Transport, 6730 Monterey St., between 3 a.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.

Residential burglary

Two 30-packs of Budweiser beer valued at $44 and CDs valued at $200 were stolen from a residence on the 8500 block of Church Street, between 12 a.m. Wednesday and 9:11 a.m. Sunday.

A bass guitar, amplifier and computer, valued of $850, were stolen from a residence on the 7792 Chestnut St., between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. The suspect or suspects broke into the front window of the apartment.
