Randy McNown, long-time resident of Hollister, graduate of Hollister High School, who also served four years in the U.S.Navy and five years in the National Guard, recently died in Isabella,Missouri. Randy was known in Hollister as an avid fisherman. He had moved to Isabella less than two years ago, with his childhood friend, Ron Hill, to pursue more fishing and to start a new life. While helping his neighbor, Randy was shot and killed when a man with a gun broke into his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Willard McNown. Randy is survived by his mother, Virginia McNown, brother, Dr. M. Jeff McNown,and sister, Melissa M. Brandon.
He most recently was employed by a hospital equipment company in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
A memorial service at the First Presbyterian Church, Hollister, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 1:00 P. M.
