Gilroy – Keading Performance shocked Bad News 18-11 Monday to remain tied for first place in the Men’s C League standings at Las Animas Park.

Louie Catano powered two home runs and two singles as Keading reached 4-1 in second-half competition in the Gilroy Community Services Department program. Keading faces 4-1 Pro Electric at 6:30pm Monday July 9 at Las Animas for the second-half title. Mario Palacios, Daniel DeLeon and Gilbert Salgado added homers for Keading Performance. Gilbert Salgado went 4-for-4 and scored four Keading runs. Daniel Salinas homered and doubled for Bad News (3-2).

Pro Electric defeated the Platinum Roofing Slammers 12-5 behind home runs from Lionel Ortiz and Daniel Garcia. Carlos Cazares delivered three hits for Pro Electric. Manuel Juarez homered and Joe Duran went 3-for-3 for the Slammers, the first-half CC champion.

Keller Heating rebounded from an 8-0 deficit to stop BM Construction 17-13.

Anthony Hernandez and Jose Mendoza stroked two-run hits as BM Construction tallied eight runs in the top of the first inning. Keller moved into an 8-8 tie after two innings, then struck for eight runs in the third frame. Bill Carreira bagged two singles and scored twice in the rally.

Armando Uribe and Carreira each netted four Keller Heating hits. Mike Luna and Hernandez each went 4-for-4 and Maciel Urenda went 3-for-3 for BM Construction.

The Cali Boys moved to 5-0 in Men’s CCC League play at Christmas Hill Park with a 15-4 nod over the Hit Men.

AG Hernandez went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly as the Boys maintained a one-game lead over the Desperados and Bracco’s Towing. The Cali Boys face Bracco’s Monday July 9 at 7:40pm at Christmas Hill in the regular-season finale.

Humberto Quintero lashed three hits and Danny Banderas delivered two hits and a sacrifice fly for the league leaders. Henry Quistian homered and Ernie Badillo and Steven Quistian added triples to the Hit Men attack.

Bracco’s Towing advanced to 4-1 with a 14-3 decision over Gamers In Control.

Danny Rubalcava and Nundo Dominguez each cracked four hits for Bracco’s. the first-half Men’s DD champion. Alex Rojas scored three Bracco’s runs. Matt Coughlin hit a home run and single, scoring two Gamers runs.

Chris Costello Electric topped Campbell’s Towing 12-3 behind a Gary Tognetti home run and three hits from both Chris Costello and Ed Castro. Jayson Morton homered for Campbell’s Towing.
