Former resident of San Jose. Just three days before his 93rd birthday, Bob passed away at home after having spent a full and active day with his family.

Known for his energy, sense of fun, and love of family, Bob remained true to his character throughout his days. Born in Southern California, Bob moved north to San Jose with his younger brother Eddie “Chiki” Serrano in the 1930’s to settle with his older sister, Lily, and brother-in-law, Pilar Ramirez.

Bob answered his country’s call and served under Patton with the Army’s 7th Cavalry in North Africa and on into Italy where he was wounded at Anzio receiving a purple heart and a discharge.

Following the war, Bob returned to San Jose where he became a master carpenter, married, and raised his family. In 2003, Bob moved to Hollister, CA to live nearer to his children.

Bob is survived by his first wife, Florence Briones Serrano, and their children: Vivian (Oscar Inocencio) and David (Janet).
