Disney on Ice does it again, bringing its usual cacophony of color, imagination and creatively that children and adults have come to expect from Disney’s ice skating extravaganzas. All the favorite Disney heroines and heroes are here with a mix of aerial and ice choreography.

“Tangled” is the fascinating story of Rapunzel and her magical golden locks, which use 2,000 feet of silk draped in the rafters that the skaters use in aerial moves. This will be the first Disney on Ice program to feature music from the film.

Then there are “The Princess and The Frog” and “Cinderella,” which blend into one evening without going into overdrive. They are presented with spectacular special effects with the usual Disney sparkle.

With special effects and lighting we are taken on journeys that involve memories of the good old days and plots that involve many unforgettable, humorous and suspenseful moments.

Choreographer Cindy Stuart, who created the shimmering numbers of many past Disney on Ice productions, returns. Stuart – who has worked with silver medallist Rosalyn Sumners, Nancy Kerrigan, Katarina Witt, National Pairs Champions Jenni Meno and Todd Sand, and World Champion Chen Lu – is a true artist who paints smooth beautiful routines that are more than the usual ice show shtick. Her imaginative presentations keep the attention of 3-year-olds as well as the adults that come to enjoy a unique evening. She had skaters train for six weeks with an aerial instructor for the “Tangled” segment.

Costume designers bring stunning and imaginative creativity to the eye. The costumes that appear in this production are true to the character in design and detail.

Lighting designers push the envelope in creativity. Having to cover such a vast area is no easy task and if not done well, the whole production could be lost in blank spaces.

Aided by a talented cast of excellent skaters and enthralling music, the whole show does exactly what it’s supposed to do by giving off a glow of happiness and well being.

A fun evening is guaranteed with the Disney On Ice’s production of “Dare To Dream.” The kids will be excited seeing all their animated friends come to life, and the adults will enjoy the sounds and sights of this beautiful presentation.
