Gilroy residents and CHS alumni are encouraged to set up their lawn chairs and enjoy Christopher High School’s Homecoming Night Parade 2013 from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.
The theme this year is “City Rhythms” in celebration of different music genres enjoyed all over the nation and to promote unity in the community. The event will feature the homecoming court, class floats, school clubs, the cheer and dance teams, free toys and candy and the Midnight Pride Marching Band.
New to the CHS homecoming extravaganza this year is a main stage set up at Sunrise Park with music, a master of ceremonies and judges, including CHS Principal Patricia Jolly and former CHS principal John Perales.
The judges will score the class floats and club participation for spirit points. Winners will be announced at the night rally later on in the evening inside the CHS gym.
The MC for the night will be Mark Turner, President of the Gilroy Chamber of Commerce.
President Grace Gullen of the CHS Associated Student Body notes the high school is taking measures to limit sound that may pose a disturbance to nearby residences.
