• No. I personally will not be shopping, but we have freedom of choice and I understand the retailers trying to make money in this downturned economy.
• Yes. I am so tired of families being swept away with shopping. We all need to take the day off and give thanks for the life that we have or, at the very least, relax.
• A definite YES. Retailers expect employees to be at work, some as early as 4 a.m. Thanksgiving Day is a time to be with family, to give thanks for what you have, to eat together. This day takes a lot of time to prepare for and clean up afterwards. Working and shopping on Thanksgiving day is just plain unAmerican.

• Yes, there’s a point where the good of society should outweigh the capitalistic “more” and we’re at that. America needs to dial it back, give employees a break and wait to start the shopping madness until Thanksgiving morning.

• Yes! Great idea. I wistfully think back to the days when Nob Hill was closed on Thanksgiving Day. Give us relief from the constant pressure to buy!
• Yes. Thanksgiving is supposed to be about giving thanks for all the blessing we have, instead it has turned into a, “how fast can you spend your money”! If only big retailers would realize that employees are more committed when they can get re-energized.
