Gilroy High’s wrestling team rode seven pins to a 61-15 home win over Monterey on Wednesday night as the host Mustangs celebrated Alumni Night.
Jesse Vasquez (120 pounds), Victor Olmos (132), Paul Fox (145), Nikko Villarreal (152), Matt Penyacsek (170), Julian Carbajal (182) and Mark Penyacsek (195) each won by fall for the Mustangs.
Gilroy also had William Calderon (106) win by forfeit, Victor Daza (126) win by forfeit, Javin Aragon (160) win by major decision and Daniel Patterson (220) win by decision.
As part of Gilroy’s third annual Alumni Night, Charlie Morales was honored as the founder of the Gilroy Hawks youth wrestling club, and Mustangs wrestlers of the past met the current Mustangs.
