HONORS: Marc O’Hara: Air Force Airman Marc L. O’Hara graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
O’Hara is the son of Dave O’Hara of Gilroy and a 2009 graduate of Gilroy High School.
David Patrick
First Lieutenant U.S. Army Intelligence Officer David Patrick was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for humanitarian work performed in Guatemala. The objective was to build a badly needed school and hospital, and to reach out to the community to address medical needs and to establish friendships. Camp Parks Dublin members were joined by civil engineers from the Missouri National Guard and Canadian medical staff.
David, from Morgan Hill, found the Guatemalans to be very warm and friendly and the countyside was beautiful. He is currently serving at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan and is expected to return home in July.
David, son of Vimean and James Patrick, graduated from Live Oak High School and was active supporting charitable organizations like Town Cats, Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras, American Cancer Society Walkathon, food drives and he continues to give back to the community.
Harmony Padilla
Harmony Padilla, a senior sociology major from Gilroy, has been named to the Fall 2012 Dean’s List at McMurry University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking 12 or more credit hours.
Offering a diverse academic curriculum to more than 1,400 students, McMurry University is a small Christian liberal arts school in Abilene, Texas.
