Rick Hattaway made 10 three-point field goals Wednesday to help Hard Ninety to an 88-70 Men’s Summer Basketball League victory over the Wild Aces at Solorsano Gym.
Hattaway’s 34 points sparked Hard Ninety to a 2-1 mark in the 10-game season.
Brian Booth contributed 16 points, Nate Kassel and JT Tipton 15 apiece for Hard Ninety.
Kevin Medrano drained 19 points to lead the Wild Aces offense. Giovanni Lopez popped in 16 points, Ricardo Ortiz managed 11 and both Brian Ganancial and Daniel Flores tallied 10 points. Hard Ninety held a 34-29 lead at the intermission.
District 5 moved to 3-0 atop the six-team league with a 73-63 nod over Gold’s Force.
Justin Nicholson struck for 35 points for District 5 while Erik Nelson hit four 3-pointers on the way to 18 points.
Albert Medrano scored 21 of his 29 points in the second half as God’s Force battled back from a 50-23 intermission deficit. Jerrell Morales added 10 points for Gold’s Force.
MOB reached 2-1 with a 78-55 victory over Turtles In Arms.
Roman Bassi poured in 28 points for MOB, highlighted by eight 3-pointers. Hussain Mohamed came through with 16 points, Howard Kwong 12 and Edgar Velasquez 10 for MOB. Kyle Billups scored 14 points and LaMont Chappell added 13 for Turtles In Arms.
