Rams finish 6th at Delta College Classic
The Gavilan volleyball team went 2-2 at the Delta College Classic which took place Friday and Saturday in Stockton. The Rams finished sixth out of 15 teams at the tournament.
Gavilan went 1-1 on Friday, topping Butte College 3-1 by a score of 25-21, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23 before losing 3-0 to Sierra College later in the day. Sierra topped Gavilan 21-25, 16-25, 14-25.Â
Tazmin Apple led the Rams with 19 kills against Butte, Savanna Hartman had 13. Sabrina Gerard had 61 assists through two games on Friday.
The Rams also went 1-1 Saturday, winning 3-0 over Feather River (27-25, 25-17, 25-21) before dropping a 3-0 contest to American River (25-18, 25-16. 25-13).Â
Hartman had 15 kills and seven digs in two games Saturday, while had Gerard 50 assists.
Gavilan will be back on the court at Saturday at the COS Tournament in Weed, taking on College of the Sequoias and Shasta.
