GILROY – Tax Systems rolled past Feather Haven 20-7 in a battle of unbeaten second-half Men’s D Softball League teams at Las Animas Park Friday.

Zach Cobb and Tom Karambela lashed home runs and Moises Leonor went 5-for-5 as the Taxmen moved to 4-0 with two weeks left in the season. John DeCarlo Jr. and Jessie Nunez each managed a triple and two singles for 3-1 Feather Haven.

The Bomb Squad topped Humboldt Brewing 15-11 by scoring four runs in the top of the eighth inning. Cesar Rojas hit a two-run single to highlight the rally. Cesar Vasquez hit a three-run homer and David Espinoza lined four hits for the Bomb Squad. Dave Keim Jr. homered for Humboldt Brewing.

Elias Sanchez cracked two home runs and Adrian Guzman, Juan Arias and Roy Escudero added one apiece as Los Cochinos surprised the Bike Center 26-13. Paul Stanley and Nick Hilton had Bike home runs.

VFW Bingo stopped Team Hair FX 18-10 Thursday in Men’s EE play to take over first place in the second-half standings with a 4-1 mark.

Dustin Robinson and Stephen Jeske each managed four hits and scored four runs for VFW Bingo. Mike Kachel went 3-for-4 for 3-1 Team Hair FX.

SVCC Sons of Thunder reached 3-2 by outlasting Bad News Block 19-4. Joe Lopez and Cesar Sepulveda each collected two hits and scored four runs for the Sons of Thunder. Eric Daniel hit a two-run single for Bad News Block.

Anritsu moved to 4-0 atop the Men’s E League Friday at Christmas Hill by defeating the Borrachos 15-4. Dave Soto and Ben Hartshorn each went 4-for-4 for the winners. Mike Porter went 3-for-3 for the Borrachos.

KC Adams hit two home runs and Ryan Mull added one as New Hope Community Church (3-2) defeated the Gilroy Honda Pilots 11-1. Steve LaFierenza hit an RBI-single for the Pilots.

Aaron Foster, Marc Vegas and Tyler Maslanka hit home runs to ignite a 12-3 Hit Crew win over Trevino Brothers Construction. Rusty Trevino hit a two-run single for the Builders.

Adams went 4-for-4 Thursday as New Hope added a 25-7 victory over the Hit Crew. Chris Wong singled and doubled for the losers (3-1).

Trevino Brothers handed the Borrachos a 15-8 setback as Chase Locsin poked two triples and a single, plating five runs. Derek Mercure added a triple, double, single and sacrifice fly. Mitchell Reese homered and Abraham Hernandez went 3-for-3 for the Borrachos.

Jason Corona hit a triple and two singles to lead the Assassins past the Honda Pilots 16-6. Chris Lee blasted two triples and a single for the Pilots.

Corey’s Girls (4-0) maintained the lead in the Women’s League pennant chase Wednesday with a 33-3 win over Goldsmith Seeds. Ermelinda Garcia went 6-for-6 and Missy Howe hit four extra-base hits for the winners. Yolanda Lomas went 1-for-3 and one RBI for the Seeds.

Trudi Souza and Maureen Hughes each recorded four hits and scored three runs as All 4 Seasons Pet Services defeated Garza Sisters & Friends 23-7. Angie Garcia, Della Martinez and Allison Dukworth each scored two Garza Sisters runs.

Note: The 24th annual Men’s E Garlic Festival Softball Tournament is accepting entries at the Gilroy Community Services Department office through July 9. The double-elimination event will be held July 18-19, with the finals set for Christmas Hill Park. A $170 entry fee and an E-caliber roster are necessary to enter the field, which will be limited to 24 teams. Games begin at 9 a.m. on both days. Four local fields will be used.
