Most shots that aren’t solid are caused by your shoulders opening up to the target so the shoulders now aim to the left of your target instead of at your target.
When starting your downswing, slide your hips to the target and keep your front shoulder aligned properly so it doesn’t fly open behind you. Your front shoulder will go up slightly if done correctly but it won’t open. Getting the ball to travel straight or left is done by rolling the forearms over, through the impact – not rolling the shoulders or entire upper body. If your chest points at the ball at impact then your shoulders are aligned to the target and you simply roll your arms to draw the ball.
But if your shoulders are open to the target then pulls and slices will be the norm.
