GILROY – Corey’s Girls took the first-half Women’s League crown Monday with a 10-3 decision over Garza Sisters & Friends at Christmas Hill Park.
Liz Adams plated three Corey’s Girls runs with a double and single. Corey’s finished at 5-1, while three clubs, including Garza Sisters, tied for second at 3-3. Sophia Gause and Randa Habib each collected two Garza Sisters hits.
RSW Racing claimed the first-half Co-Rec C League softball title Tuesday by topping Hi-Energy Networks 15-4 at Las Animas Park.
Cesar Lopez and Tim Sorci each lined four hits as RSW Racing moved to 6-1 for the half and will advance to the B League for the second half. Joseph Tovar and Tony Smith each homered for 5-2 Hi-Energy Networks.
The second half of the Gilroy Community Services Department program opens Sunday with five games at Las Animas. RSW Racing takes on Blackout Window Tinting at 4 p.m. Frank Vargas Taxes, the first-half B champion, plays Gaeta’s Ballers at 5:10 p.m.
Co-Rec C play includes Out to Play-Pro Electric opposite Team Hair FX at 6:20 p.m., Rush order and Big Kahunas at 7:30 p.m., and Hi-Energy Networks and El Fuego at 8:40 p.m.
Maureen Hughes powered a grand slam to complete a 5-for-5 night as All 4 Seasons Pet Services (3-3) defeated Ms. BeHaving 14-3. Trudi Souza tripled and singled for the winners. Grace Gonzalez, Barb Lemberger and Caroline Martinez each notched two hits for Ms. BeHaving.
The Hit Men earned the first-half Men’s D pennant Tuesday with a 26-5 nod over Humboldt Brewing.
David Wright’s three-run double helped the Hit Men (5-1) to 10 runs in the first inning. Marco Lopez produced four Hit Men hits. Bruce Hanna tripled and doubled for 4-2 Humboldt.
Tax Systems joined Humboldt at 4-2 with a 27-9 win over the Bike Center. Zach Cobbs went 5-for-5 while hitting for the cycle for the Taxmen.
Feather Haven defeated Trevino Brothers Construction 22-4 Monday to complete a 6-0 run through the Men’s DD League. Ryan McDonnell hit two homers, Albert Alosi one for the winners. Mitch Pierce and Mark Guajardo hit Trevino Brothers homers.
AJ Martinez went 3-for-3 with a homer as Silicon Valley Concrete (5-1) stopped the Titans 18-5. Vance Lee stroked a three-run homer for the Titans.
Bubba Lara went 3-for-4 and drove in four runs to lead the Loco Boys past Claddagh Brew Crew 18-7. Scott Shipper doubled and singled for Claddagh.
